Meghan Markle opened up about a personal moment in her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, sharing how being away from her children, Archie and Lilibet, for almost three weeks affected her. Speaking with Queer Eye star Tan France, Meghan admitted the time apart left her feeling “not well.” Tan shared that he finds it difficult to be away from his children for more than a couple of days, and Meghan nodded in agreement, reflecting on her own experience.

She didn’t specify exactly when the separation happened, but many believe she was referring to September 2022, when she and Prince Harry stayed in the UK after Queen Elizabeth II’s death, while Archie and Lilibet remained in California with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. Prince Harry has also written about that time in his memoir, Spare, recalling how they were apart from their children longer than ever before and how, upon reuniting, “for days and days we couldn’t stop hugging the children, couldn’t let them out of our sight.”

In the series, Meghan also shared insights into her relationship with Harry. She revealed she knew early on that he was the one and realized she loved him on their third date while camping in Botswana. “He said ‘I love you’ first,” Meghan said. She also shared small details of their life together, including that roast chicken is one of their favorite meals, though Harry isn’t a fan of lobster.
