Looks like Megan Thee Stallion was the rule-breaker of the night at this year’s Met Gala! The chart-topping rapper was one of the honored guests at the exclusive event, but she didn’t exactly follow all the rules.
While surrounded by fellow stars like Doechii and Angel Reese, Megan pulled out her phone — something that’s actually strictly not allowed during the Gala. Not only did she film herself and others at the dinner table, but she even went ahead and uploaded the footage to Instagram!
In the video she posted, Megan and her tablemates could be seen clinking glasses and sampling fancy dishes like cornbread with caviar, white truffle lobster rolls, and vegan lox. At one point, Megan looked right at the camera and admitted, “We’re not supposed to be using our phones… but we’re doing it anyway.”
In another clip, Megan — also known as Otaku Hot Girl — was caught on camera telling someone at the event that she snuck her phone in. She didn’t stop there—she also posted more videos of herself toasting with friends and chatting with celebs around the room.
Some of her sweet celebrity interactions included:
-
Complimenting Lupita Nyong’o, calling her “beautiful”
-
Gushing over Serena Williams, whom she also told about sneaking in her phone
-
Hyping up Ciara, encouraging the singer to show off her dress on camera
She even cheekily captioned her post, “Hottie Cam in thee MET GALA.”
While fans loved her playful sneakiness, some think she might have pushed her luck too far — there’s speculation that this might get her banned from future Met Galas. But to be fair, she wasn’t the only one breaking the phone rule. Stars like Halle Bailey, Sydney Sweeney, and Lisa were also caught taking selfies during the event.
