Megan Thee Stallion is talking about a tense moment when she was asked about her relationship with Tory Lanez by Gayle King during her CBS Mornings interview. In her Amazon Prime documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, she expressed her frustration: “Why is you asking me about f–king Tory? That’s not what this is about.” This remark highlights the challenges she faced while discussing a deeply traumatic experience.

While Megan admitted to having had a brief sexual encounter with Tory “like once, maybe twice on a drunk night,” she felt the focus of the conversation was misplaced. She stated, “Yes, b—h. I lied to Gayle King, b—h… I thought we was gonna talk about this shooting.” This admission came after Lanez was found guilty in December 2022 on multiple felony charges related to the July 2020 incident in which he shot at her feet.

Megan has been open about the mental toll that public scrutiny surrounding the incident has taken on her. In an interview with Women’s Health, she shared, “A lot of people didn’t treat me like I was human for a long time.” She noted the confusion among her fans regarding their expectations of her as a public figure, having been initially perceived as the “fun and happy party girl.”

As for Tory Lanez, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2023 and has since appealed his convictions. Maintaining his innocence, he took to Instagram to assert, “Regardless of how they spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will.”

Megan’s candid remarks and the scrutiny she faced underscore the complexities of navigating personal trauma in the public eye. As discussions continue about her experience, she hopes to shift the narrative back to the serious nature of the incident rather than her personal life.
