The Arizona Cardinals are once again dealing with uncertainty around Marvin Harrison Jr.
The rookie wide receiver showed up on the injury report this week. The issue is his heel. It has not fully healed. Because of that, Harrison was limited in practice and listed as questionable.
He was in the same situation last week. He still played. Now the question is whether he can do it again in Week 17 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Harrison is expected to play. That is the good news.
The bad news is his workload.
Schefter reported that Harrison’s snaps will be managed. In simple terms, he will not be on the field much. The team plans to limit how often he plays.
Final confirmation will come before kickoff when both teams release their inactive lists around 11:30 a.m. ET. From a fantasy football point of view, this is not encouraging.
Harrison ranks WR38 in fantasy points per game. That already puts him on the edge of flex territory.
Last week, he played limited snaps as well. He was on the field for 29 plays. He caught just 1 pass. It went for 14 yards. A similar role is expected this week. The matchup also works against him. Cincinnati allows the fourth fewest fantasy points to wide receivers this season.
Harrison is also not fully healthy. There is a real risk of the heel injury getting worse if he pushes it.
With limited snaps, a tough defense, and injury risk, the upside is very low.
For Week 17, the safer move is to keep him on the bench.
