Marvel Rivals has officially turned one year old, and Netease is celebrating in a huge way. Players are getting loads of free Units, a new Jeff the Shark cosmetic, a special anniversary event and even a brand new 18 vs. 18 mode. The November 27 update is packed, and here is everything added in the simplest, most human way possible.

The update went live on November 27 at 9 AM UTC. There is no downtime. You just open the game and start playing right away.

The big highlight is the Rivals’ Day anniversary celebration. The devs say it has been an amazing first year full of great wins and funny losses. They thank players for supporting the game and say they want to bring even more exciting moments in the future. The first phase of the celebration starts on November 27.

The first event gives you 1,500 free Units just for logging in during the anniversary period. You only need to show up daily and claim the rewards.

The second event is called Rivals Assemble. You can invite any player, whether they are new or returning. You do not even need to play matches together. By inviting others, you can earn up to 600 Units and a special emote called Bright Future.

The third event is the Times Square Countdown. If you join the in game countdown, you get 200 Units and a title called Rivals’ Day 2025. Even if you miss the exact countdown moment, you can still claim the reward within the next 72 hours.

The fourth event is Jeff’s Break Time. By playing matches, you unlock the Jeff the Land Shark Business Shark costume for free. There are also extra skins for Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic if you buy the premium version of the event.

Phase Two of the celebration starts on December 4. You will be able to earn another 200 Units by sharing your Rivals Rewind report. When you add everything together, the total free Units reach 2,500.

There is also a brand new 18 versus 18 mode called Annihilation. It takes place on a new map called Grand Garden. It is a huge Domination style fight with tons of players on the field at once.

The Season 1 Battle Pass is also back for a short time. If you missed the Darkhold Battle Pass the first time, you can buy it now through the Nexus menu.

The game is having its first Black Friday sale too. Many items get a 20 percent discount. Every time you buy one of these items, you get a coupon that gives an even bigger discount for your next purchase. The more you buy, the better the discount gets.

New bundles are also available. These include a Venom Gummy Surprise bundle and a Blade Restful Recovery bundle. A Marvel Unlimited bundle has also been added.

The update also fixes many bugs. These include issues like nameplates not matching in Times Square, Gambit’s cards picking the wrong target, Cloak and Dagger getting stuck during their Ultimate, Peni Parker losing speed boosts, Mister Fantastic’s arms not retracting, and Rocket’s gadgets disappearing when thrown at certain angles. Several Jeff the Land Shark bugs were fixed too, including sound effects playing for too long and unexpected wall sliding.

Marvel Rivals’ anniversary update is one of the biggest so far, and it is full of free rewards, new modes and fun celebrations. If you play the game, this is a great time to log in.
