Margot Robbie is embracing her new chapter as a mom. The actress, who welcomed her first child with husband Tom Ackerley last year, recently spoke about parenthood for the very first time. While promoting her upcoming film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, the Barbie star shared how much joy she feels watching her baby boy grow.
In a chat with Entertainment Tonight, Robbie explained how hard it is to put motherhood into words. “If you try to explain it to someone who has kids, you don’t need to because they get it,” she said. “And if they don’t, it’s probably just really boring to hear. So, you’re just kind of like, ‘It’s the best’.”
The couple welcomed their son in October 2024, with the news confirmed weeks later by People magazine. Robbie and Ackerley have chosen to keep details about their baby private, including his name, but the actress made it clear she’s overjoyed with her new role as a mother.
Her co-star in the film, Colin Farrell, also shared his thoughts on parenthood, calling it the most meaningful part of his life. “It’s meant everything to me,” Farrell said, though he added that he tries not to put that weight on his children.
Although Robbie hasn’t revealed her son’s face to the public, he has already made little cameos during her interviews. While speaking with Access Hollywood, she had to pause mid-conversation and laughed as she apologized for the noise, saying, “I’m sorry about how loud my baby is.”
On the work front, Robbie’s next project, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, is set to hit theaters in September.
