Machine Gun Kelly, aka MGK, is firing back after being left out of an AI-generated “White Rapper Mount Rushmore” that recently went viral on social media. The image, which replaced the faces of historical U.S. presidents with the likenesses of prominent white rappers, included Eminem, Mac Miller, Paul Wall, and Russ—but MGK was noticeably absent.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the artist, known for his hits like My Ex’s Best Friend, expressed his frustration, calling the omission “blasphemy.” In a follow-up post, he shared a video of himself rapping, in which he addressed his thoughts on loyalty, money, and those who switch sides, emphasizing his frustration with the snub. The freestyle video also featured Gillie Tha Kid and Wallo.
The debate over MGK’s place in the “White Rapper Mount Rushmore” is interesting, especially given his transition from rap to punk rock and alternative music. Despite embracing other genres, MGK has continued to assert his roots in hip-hop. Recently, he even dropped an impromptu performance at the 2025 Coachella Festival alongside Three 6 Mafia and drummer Travis Barker, further cementing his connection to the rap scene.
In addition to his music career, MGK has seen significant personal milestones, including the birth of his daughter in March with his ex-fiancée, Megan Fox. The mix of his evolving music career and personal life has certainly kept him in the spotlight, but the debate about his place in hip-hop history continues to be a hot topic.
