The Yellowstone world is heading into fresh territory — and this time, it’s landing on CBS! The network has officially given the green light to Y: Marshals, a spinoff from the hugely popular Western drama. The show is set to be part of CBS’s 2025-26 lineup and will bring a cool mix of classic Western toughness and federal law enforcement action.
Luke Grimes is back as Kayce Dutton, a fan favorite who’ll take center stage again. This time, his character joins a special unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his rugged cowboy skills with some serious Navy SEAL training to bring justice to Montana’s wild landscapes. The series is being led by Spencer Hudnut, who’s known for his work on SEAL Team. Big names like Taylor Sheridan (the creative force behind the Yellowstone saga), John Linson, Art Linson, and even Luke Grimes himself are executive producing, so it’s in solid hands. The show will come from MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, continuing the legacy of the Yellowstone universe.
Y: Marshals is just one piece of CBS’s fresh crop of new shows. The network revealed seven new scripted and unscripted series, including spinoffs like Boston Blue, CIA, and Sheriff Country—all connected to existing or recently wrapped CBS hits. They’re also rolling out a new comedy called DMV and some unscripted shows like The Road, America’s Culinary Cup, and Harlan Coben’s Final Twist.
CBS isn’t just adding new shows — they’re also reshaping their existing schedule. The FBI series is moving to Monday nights, paired with the new CIA show. Tuesdays will be all about NCIS, featuring not only the main series but also NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney. Fridays will showcase Sheriff Country followed by Fire Country, while Boston Blue takes over the longtime slot held by Blue Bloods.
Looking ahead to the 2026-27 season, CBS already has some big plans. Shows like FBI and Ghosts have been renewed for multiple seasons, while the Matthew Gray Gubler procedural Einstein is on hold for now. They’re also working on Cupertino, a legal drama set in Silicon Valley, from the creators of Elsbeth and Evil. With Y: Marshals leading the charge, CBS is gearing up for an exciting new era filled with interconnected shows and shared story worlds.
