Lizzo (Melissa Jefferson) recently shared her updated diet with fans via Instagram, detailing what a typical day of meals looks like after giving up veganism. In a video titled “What I Eat in a Day: as a Former Vegan,” she included a variety of nutritious foods.
What Lizzo eats in a day
For breakfast, Lizzo enjoys egg white cups paired with cauliflower hashbrowns and fresh fruit. Her lunch features a buffalo chicken lettuce wrap, enhanced with mustard, while dinner includes grilled chicken with asparagus and carrots.
Beyond animal proteins, Lizzo revealed she also enjoys a variety of greens, such as a smoothie with coconut water, kale, and frozen fruit, and a fresh salad with kale, red cabbage, broccoli, and avocado. The singer says she plans to continue adjusting her diet but is happy with her current balance.
After experimenting with veganism, Lizzo discovered she felt more energized by adding animal proteins to her meals. Inspired by a Japanese-style diet, the singer said this shift has improved her overall health. Among her drinks of choice are lemon water, homemade peach tea, and okra water, the latter of which has gained popularity on TikTok for its potential health benefits.
Lizzo’s journey beyond veganism
This new insight into her meals follows Lizzo’s public clap back at rumors suggesting her weight loss was due to Ozempic, a drug popularized for weight loss. In a September 20 post, Lizzo addressed these claims, proudly attributing her results to weight training and a calorie deficit.
Her fitness journey has been equally transparent. Documenting her workouts on TikTok, Lizzo regularly shares her approach to pushing through tough sessions, recently describing a technique she uses on the Stairmaster to stay motivated.
