BLACKPINK’s Lisa is ready to take her acting career to the next level. According to reports on October 15, the global star has signed on for a major new Netflix project titled Extraction: Tigo, joining a cast full of big Korean names. If confirmed, this will be Lisa’s second-ever acting role after her debut in The White Lotus season 3, which was filmed in her home country, Thailand.
The new Netflix movie will also feature Train to Busan actor Ma Dong Seok and Sweet Home star Lee Jin Wook in leading roles. Fans are already excited to see Lisa share the screen with such powerful names from the Korean film industry.
Extraction: Tigo is said to be a spin-off of Netflix’s popular Extraction franchise, which originally starred Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth. The first two movies, released in 2020 and 2023, became major hits around the world. While a third installment is reportedly in development, Tigo will stand on its own, expanding the Extraction universe with a fresh Korean story and new characters.
For Lisa, this marks another huge milestone in her growing career. It will be her first acting project since joining the American management agency WME earlier this year. The move signals her growing presence in Hollywood and her aim to balance both her music and acting careers on a global scale.
The film’s story will reportedly follow Ma Dong Seok’s character, a mercenary on a dangerous rescue mission to save his kidnapped colleague. The actor is also said to be involved in the movie’s production through his own company, Big Punch Pictures, which is co-producing the film. Director Lee Sang Yong, best known for The Roundup: No Way Out and The Roundup: Punishment, will be directing the project, setting high expectations for intense action and powerful storytelling.
With Lisa now stepping into the world of action thrillers alongside some of Korea’s biggest stars, fans are beyond thrilled to see how she’ll shine in this bold new chapter of her career.
