Lady Gaga is officially part of Wednesday season 2. She will play a brand-new character named Rosaline Rotwood. In the story, Rosaline is known as a legendary teacher at Nevermore Academy. She will have an important role and cross paths with Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega.
But that’s not all Gaga is doing. She is also releasing a brand-new song for the show. The song is called Dead Dance and it will come out next month. This release will happen around the same time as her character shows up in the second half of the season.
A music video for the song will also be released. Reports say that Gaga and Tim Burton were seen filming it on the Island of the Dolls. This spooky place is in Xochimilco, near Mexico City. The same song will also be featured in one of the episodes of the show.
Dead Dance was made with the same team that worked on Gaga’s latest album, Mayhem. That includes producers Andrew Watt and Cirkut, who helped write and produce the track.
Tim Burton, who directs some episodes and is also the executive producer, had very kind words about Gaga. He told Variety that working with artists like her is very inspiring. He said that whenever Gaga came on set, the whole crew lit up with excitement. He also praised other cast members like Joanna Lumley and Steve Buscemi, who have joined the new season.
Other new stars joining this season include Billie Piper. Some actors from the first season are also coming back. This includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Emma Myers, and more of the original cast.
In a recent interview, Billie Piper shared that she has loved Tim Burton’s films since she was young. She said she watched Beetlejuice so many times as a kid that it actually shaped her style and even the way her house looks. Her kids also love his animated films like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Frankenweenie.
With Lady Gaga stepping in as both an actor and singer, fans of the show and her music have a lot to look forward to in season 2 of Wednesday.
