Los Angeles – Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner have categorically denied allegations made by singer Ray J, who claims they leaked a well-known s*x tape to the public in 2007 on purpose; they called these claims “false“, “disgusting“, and detrimental.

The mother-daughter duo made these statements as part of a sworn declaration filed March 10 with the Superior Court of Los Angeles as part of the continuing defamation lawsuit. Kardashian, 45, characterized Ray J’s claims as absolute lies and stated that she has had to spend a considerable amount of money on therapy and advisers to refute the lies and protect her reputation and welfare. Kardashian went on to state that she did not have any plans with her mother or anyone else to release the s*x tape, defraud the public, or stage a ‘fake‘ lawsuit against Vivid Entertainment (the company that released the s*x tape).

Jenner, 70 years old, described the allegations as “absolutely false” and “completely false and disgusting“. She stated that as a parent, the idea that she had orchestrated or assisted in producing/distributing sex tapes of her daughter is “not only completely untrue, but also incredibly harmful and has haunted me for many, many years“. Jenner expressed overwhelming sadness over the disclosure of her daughter’s private moments and disavowed any involvement in “peddling” the s*x tape.

The consensual footage of Kardashian and Ray J (real name: William Ray Norwood Jr.) was recorded in 2003; however, it was ultimately released by Vivid Entertainment, and thus provided Kardashian’s rise to mainstream attention and notoriety in conjunction with the premiere of her television show Keeping Up with the Kardashians in later years.

These accusations were made by Ray J’s attorneys in a November 2025 cross-complaint, which was in response to the October 2025 defamation lawsuit brought against Ray J by Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner. The defendant in this cross-complaint alleges that all parties involved executed licensing contracts with Vivid Entertainment, with conversations and negotiations with Vivid to release the tapes commencing in 2006 under the supervision of Kris Jenner. Furthermore, Ray J alleges that Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian breached a $6 million settlement agreement dated 2023 by revisiting the incident and the television show The Kardashians on Hulu in 2022 for publicity. Ray J seeks to have the defamation lawsuit against him dismissed and for $1 million in damages.

Ray J’s attorney has stated that he has evidence that the Kardashians committed perjury in their respective declarations because they made statements that are “objectively false.”

The parties involved will continue to litigate. A recent hearing was held on Ray J’s motion for dismissal, and a ruling on that motion is expected soon. All parties will be contacted for additional comments.
