On Tuesday, Kim Kardashian showed up at the Palais de Justice court in Paris to testify about a terrifying robbery that happened in her hotel room nearly nine years ago. Before stepping inside to tell her story, she chatted briefly with her lawyers outside the courthouse and gave a big wave to all the cameras waiting for her arrival.
Kim looked stunning in a sleek black suit jacket with a deep neckline paired with a long black skirt. She was all smiles, flashing a huge diamond necklace — which seemed like a subtle way of saying, “I’m still shining bright,” despite losing jewelry worth a whopping $10 million during that scary incident back in October 2016.
Her mom, Kris Jenner, was right by her side for support as the reality star and businesswoman made her way inside the court.
What’s this whole trial about?
Back in the chaos of Paris Fashion Week on October 3, 2016, Kim was robbed at gunpoint by masked men who broke into her hotel room. The incident shook the fashion and celebrity world, and after a thorough police investigation, 12 suspects were arrested and charged with some serious crimes — armed robbery, kidnapping, and criminal conspiracy.
Out of those 12, five are actually going to trial: Yunice Abbas, Aomar Ait Khedache, Harminv Ait Khedache, Didier Dubreucq, and Marc-Alexandre Boyer. Unfortunately, one suspect passed away, and another is unable to stand trial because of health issues. The rest face charges related to helping out with the robbery or carrying illegal weapons.
