Kendra McQuarrie, a prominent figure during her 17-day stint on Survivor 45, had a pivotal twist in her gameplay that didn’t make it to the aired episodes. Despite her significant screen time, a crucial moment involving her was omitted from the show.
As part of the initial setup, Kendra began her Survivor journey on the Belo tribe among the three six-person tribes: Belo, Reba, and Lulu. Unfortunately, Lulu experienced consecutive losses in the first three Immunity Challenges, setting the stage for Kendra’s involvement in a significant twist.
Following Belo’s victory, they earned the chance to send a representative to Lulu to observe their strategizing before the first Tribal Council. Kendra was selected for this task and spent considerable time with Lulu, interacting with its members—Emily Flippen, Kaleb Gebrewold, Sean Edwards, Sabiyah Broderick, Brandon Donlon, and Hannah Rose. Notably, she was given a vote via Tree Mail and chose to cast it for Brandon, aiming to align with Emily in the future.
However, the untelevised interaction between Kendra and Emily on Lulu’s beach was never showcased on the show. Kendra, empathetic towards Emily’s position as an outsider within the tribe, intended to offer her support and considered aligning with her in the game.
As the game progressed, Emily emerged as the sole remaining original member of the Lulu tribe after maneuvering through multiple Tribal Councils post-tribe swap. Despite Kendra’s intentions to build an alliance with Emily, their relationship faltered when Emily sided with different players, ultimately blindsiding Kendra’s ally, Brando Meyer.
Kendra harbored thoughts of seeking revenge against Emily for her blindsiding move. However, this plan never materialized, and Kendra later mentioned developing a sense of care and admiration for Emily, leading her to drop the vendetta.
The two navigated through various twists, including a merge and subsequent strategic votes. Unfortunately, Kendra faced consecutive blindsides, culminating in her elimination on day 17. Emily, unable to cast a vote due to losing her voting power, expressed regret to Kendra before her departure, hinting at a potential alternate outcome had she retained her vote.
Kendra, as the third member of the Jury, remains part of the Survivor landscape as the game progresses with eight remaining players. The upcoming episode 10 is poised to bring further developments and challenges as the quest for the $1 million prize continues.
