Looks like Kelly Clarkson is thinking about stepping away from The Kelly Clarkson Show—and it’s not because she doesn’t love her job. According to folks close to the singer, she’s just craving more time with her kids. Hosting a daily talk show is no joke—it’s long hours, nonstop filming, interviews, rehearsals, and everything in between. And while the network would love for her to stick around, Kelly seems to have her priorities set: her kids come first.
Insiders say Kelly recently took a two-week break from the show so she could spend quality time with her daughter and son. “Her children are her top priority, always have been, always will be,” the source explained. They also added that the daily grind of the show has been wearing her out, and she’s been thinking about relocating down South to slow things down a bit and recharge.
While she was away, the show brought in some big names to guest-host in her place—Andy Cohen, Kal Penn, and Simu Liu, to name a few. But when it came time to celebrate a major milestone—the 1000th episode—Kelly made sure she was there. During the emotional event, she gave a heartfelt speech that had fans tearing up.
In her speech, Kelly got real. She admitted that while the show has brought a lot of fun, joy, and powerful moments, she’s also been feeling pretty isolated. “We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve sung and danced,” she said. “But I’ve also felt very alone at times.”
Throughout her time hosting the show, Kelly has often opened up about her personal struggles, including the tough divorce from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. She’s been honest and vulnerable with her viewers, which is a big reason why people love her so much.
As for NBC, they’re not giving up on her just yet. Sources say they’re hoping to get her back—at least for some upcoming holiday specials. Whether she returns full-time or just pops in occasionally, fans are definitely going to miss her presence if she steps away for good.
