Kelly Clarkson marked a significant milestone with the 1,000th episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, reflecting on its journey and the challenges she’s faced both professionally and personally. During the special episode aired on March 20, she delivered a heartfelt speech while a highlight reel from the show’s six-year run played behind her.
“We have laughed together, we have cried together with beautiful stories, sung together with some people, danced together, celebrated, and competed together,” Clarkson said, acknowledging the bond she’s built with her audience. However, she also hinted at personal struggles, stating, “I’ve lost, alone, a lot,” which prompted a brief, unsure laugh from the crowd. She quickly reassured the audience, “It’s okay,” before continuing her monologue.
Clarkson went on to express gratitude for her cast and crew, emphasizing how they had supported each other through challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic. “A lot of ups and downs personally as well,” she added, subtly referencing the difficulties she faced during the show’s run, particularly her highly publicized divorce from Brandon Blackstock. Clarkson and Blackstock, who share two children, daughter River Rose and son Remington, went through a tumultuous separation before finalizing it in 2022.
Though she didn’t directly address her personal struggles, Clarkson’s brief, emotional moment hinted at the tough times she endured, including a recent unexplained hiatus from the show. While her absence was not explained publicly, a source revealed that Clarkson was dealing with a “personal matter” unrelated to her show. She returned to the airwaves in recent episodes but did not elaborate further on her break.
