During her Lifetimes Tour concert in Las Vegas on Saturday, Katy Perry, 40, had a bit of a wardrobe mishap while performing her popular song “Part of Me.” A video that quickly went viral shows her bra coming undone as she runs along the stage runway. She was wearing a flashy, reflective cone-shaped bra with matching briefs and tall, pointed leather boots.
Katy noticed right away and paused for a moment, telling the audience, “Oh sh*t, my bra is gonna come off,” while making her way back to the main stage. Instead of letting it throw her off, she cleverly changed up her dance moves to hide the malfunction. At one point, she even turned around and twerked for the crowd, with the back of her bra completely open!
Later, Katy headed over to the side of the stage where one of her backup dancers, Patrick, helped her fix the bra. She joked into the microphone, “Put my bra back on, Patrick,” and teased the crowd, “Sorry guys, you didn’t pay that much,” making light of the situation. She kept her energy high and ended the performance with a stunning death drop, impressing her fans.
Lately, Katy has been in the news for a few reasons. Just a week earlier, on May 12, she opened up about feeling like she was “the most hated person on the internet,” though she quickly dismissed that idea as untrue.
Katy also recently joined a star-studded bachelorette party for Lauren Sánchez before her wedding to Jeff Bezos. The party included famous names like Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian, and Kris Jenner.
However, not all the attention has been positive. Last month, Katy faced criticism after taking an 11-minute spaceflight on Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket. Some people said she was making a show out of the experience and accused her of being out of touch.
That flight was historic, though—it was the first all-female crew in over 60 years to go to space. Alongside Katy were Lauren Sánchez, journalist Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
