Katy Perry, who recently made headlines for her space trip, took to social media to talk about AI and fake pictures. While everyone is still buzzing about the amazing photos from the Met Gala, Katy wanted to clear up some false information.
She posted on Instagram to explain why she didn’t attend the Met Gala 2025, which was held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on May 5. Katy wrote, “couldn’t make it to the MET, I’m on The Lifetimes Tour (see you in Houston tomorrow IRL).”
She also mentioned that this year she was with her mom, who was safe from the “bots” (fake accounts or AI fakes), but she said she was “praying for the rest of y’all.”
It seems Katy first heard about the fake images from her mom, who sent her a funny text saying, “Crystal just sent this,” along with a laughing emoji.
The fake pictures, made using AI, show Katy Perry walking up the stairs of the venue wearing a black coat with white lines and a leather skirt. Even though the photos look very real, Katy’s look in them makes it clear that it’s not actually her.
