Katy Perry recently revealed her space suit ahead of her upcoming launch with Blue Origin’s space project. In a video posted just an hour and five minutes before liftoff, the singer showed off her navy blue space suit, which featured a tag with her last name.

Perry is one of six women selected for the historic flight, alongside her fiancé Lauren Sánchez, CBS presenter Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn. The group is set to make history as they take part in the mission, with Perry expressing her excitement in the video: “We are the taking up space crew. There are six of us, all women, it’s historical.”

In the clip, Perry shared that she had never felt so much love before as she did just before the launch. “You never know the amount of love you have inside of you until the day you launch,” she reflected. She encouraged fans to watch the launch and landing live on the Blue Origin website.

Perry also teased a “special reveal” for her fans, known as “Katy Cats,” from “zero gravity,” further building the excitement for the event. She previously posted about the crew on social media in honor of International Day of Human Space Flight, writing, “Forever in awe of the Universe and its alignment.”

Blue Origin’s space tourism rocket is fully autonomous, meaning it doesn’t require pilots or crew to operate the engine manually. The shuttle is designed to make a parachute-assisted soft landing, while the rocket booster will return to Earth, landing two miles away from the launch site.

This flight marks a significant milestone in space history, as Blue Origin noted that the last all-women spaceflight took place more than 60 years ago. That historic mission saw Cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova become the first woman to travel to space, flying solo aboard the Vostok 6 spacecraft.
