Kanye West’s recent interview with Piers Morgan ended abruptly and unexpectedly, cutting their conversation short with no plans to pick it back up anytime soon. TMZ has shared that both Kanye—now calling himself Ye—and the British journalist have very different takes on what exactly went wrong during the chat.
The interview happened live on Tuesday, May 6, with Ye and his new streaming partner Sneako joining Morgan. Things quickly went south when Kanye told Morgan he wouldn’t be answering any more questions, saying Morgan would just have to accept that. At one point, Kanye paused the interview, saying he’d only come back when he felt comfortable. Then, out of nowhere, he ripped off his earpiece and walked away from the screen, leaving everyone hanging. Sneako jumped in to try and calm things down, explaining to Morgan which question seemed to upset Kanye the most.
Not one to stay quiet, Morgan took to social media (on X, formerly Twitter) to share his side of the story. He called Kanye out, saying the rapper was “being a baby” who just couldn’t handle the pressure. Morgan even posted a photo from the interview right before Kanye “stomped off like a big baby,” but didn’t dive deeper into what exactly caused the fallout.
Meanwhile, TMZ reports that both Kanye and Piers are now publicly throwing shade at each other, sharing their versions of the interview drama on their own platforms. It seems like this interview was meant to promote Kanye’s new album, Bully, but his latest controversies are grabbing more headlines than his music these days.
From wild social media rants to rumors about divorcing his wife Bianca Censori, Kanye’s personal life is stirring up as much buzz as his career. To add fuel to the fire, he wasn’t invited to the 2025 Met Gala after the couple caused a stir with their appearance at the Grammys. Vogue’s Anna Wintour, who co-chairs this year’s event, reportedly beefed up security to keep gatecrashers out—and Kanye was definitely on her watchlist.
