Kanye West surprised the audience by making an unannounced appearance on stage in Dubai alongside Lil Durk and Ty Dolla Sign on Sunday night. The trio delivered an unexpected performance of their latest track, “Vultures,” during Lil Durk’s show at Blu Dubai nightclub.
Clips of the performance quickly surfaced on the club’s Instagram Stories, showcasing Kanye West energetically rapping the song’s lyrics. Notably, the lyrics contain a controversial line that has stirred controversy: “How am I antisemitic? I just f*ed a Jewish bch.”
“Vultures” was initially introduced by Kanye West on November 17 via Chicago radio station Power 92. This release marks his first official track since the collaboration on “Hot Shit” with Cardi B and Lil Durk in July 2022.
Kanye West faced severe backlash in December for making antisemitic remarks and expressing admiration for Hitler during an appearance on Alex Jones’ “Infowars” talk show. The fallout resulted in significant consequences, including his removal from Twitter, the termination of his partnership with Adidas, and being dropped by CAA. West claimed he experienced a staggering $2 billion loss in a single day due to the aftermath of his comments.
The Dubai performance marks Kanye West’s return to the stage following the antisemitism controversy. His last live appearance was in August when he joined Travis Scott during a tour stop in Rome, where they performed “Praise God” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.”
Amid ongoing fallout from past controversies, Kanye West’s surprise performances and new releases attract attention, prompting discussions about the reception of his music in light of his contentious statements and actions.
