Kanye West dropped a new music video for his song called “Heil Hitler” on Thursday, May 8, and it quickly stirred up a lot of controversy. The video shows a group of shirtless Black men wearing animal skins, openly praising Adolf Hitler — the infamous German dictator responsible for horrific crimes in history.

In the song, Kanye raps about feeling angry and hurt because he believes “people” have taken away his kids and frozen his bank accounts. Kanye, who has four children named North, Chicago, Saint, and Psalm with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, has been involved in a public custody battle with her. He claims he’s being unfairly blocked from seeing his children.

One of the lines in the song says, “With all of my money and fame, I still don’t get to see my children,” highlighting his frustration. Then he goes on with very strong and shocking lyrics, calling himself a Nazi and “the villain,” which has raised a lot of eyebrows and upset many people.

Kanye also addresses his relationship with his current partner, Bianca Censori. Recently, they faced a lot of criticism after showing up at the 2025 Grammys, where Bianca wore a very revealing, see-through dress with nothing underneath. People accused Kanye of controlling how she dresses, and he responded to those accusations in the song.

In the lyrics, Kanye even uses the term “cuck,” which is a slang insult usually meaning someone who’s okay with their partner cheating on them. He raps about this in a way that’s meant to shock and provoke, talking about his relationship in very raw terms.

Known for his controversial and often extreme views, Kanye didn’t hold back in expressing admiration for Hitler and his beliefs. The song ends with a sample of one of Hitler’s speeches from the 1930s, making the message even more disturbing.

On a livestream with internet personalities Sneako and Adin Ross, Kanye defended his feelings about Hitler. When asked if Hitler would have accepted him as a Black man, Kanye said he believed Hitler would have made him “one of the scientists” working for America, which shocked many viewers.
