The second half of July is shaping up to be an exciting period for K-drama fans, with a mix of highly anticipated premieres and climactic episodes from ongoing series. Among the standout new shows is Low Life, a crime drama set in the 1970s that explores the fallout of an Imperial Chinese shipwreck. Starring Ryu Seung Ryong, Yang Se Jong, and Im Soo Jung, the show brings a historical twist to the crime genre and will begin streaming on Disney+ starting July 16.
The Nice Guy, premiering July 18 on JTBC, features Lee Dong Wook and Lee Sung Kyung in a gritty narrative centered around a gangster family heir trying to distance himself from his violent past. On July 18, S Line continues its dark murder investigation arc as Lee Soo Hyuk’s character probes deeper into his niece’s death, possibly with assistance from Arin and Lee Da Hee. Our Movie approaches a sorrowful conclusion with its final episodes on July 18 and 19, where Namkoong Min’s character faces heartbreak following Jeon Yeo Been’s tragic exit.
The First Night with the Duke will wrap up its romantic-fantasy storyline on July 16 and 17 on Viki, as Ok Taecyeon and Seohyun’s characters face the possibility of being separated forever or finding a way to stay together across timelines. Lastly, GOOD BOY reaches its conclusion on July 19 and 20. In these final episodes, Park Bo Gum’s character may finally confront the person responsible for his best friend’s death, bringing long-awaited justice to the screen.
