Justin Bieber is opening up about his ongoing inner struggles with love and mental health through a series of reflective Instagram Stories. The singer shared candid thoughts on how love, though essential, can sometimes feel emotionally exhausting.
Bieber explained that love is not about “what you put in” or a transactional exchange, but rather about freely receiving affection without conditions. Yet, he confessed that he often finds himself caught in a cycle of trying to “earn” love, which leaves him feeling drained and conflicted.
He wrote, “Love isn’t a u get what u put in kinda thing. It’s a receiving thing. Still find myself trying to earn love. And It’s exhausting.” He acknowledged that this struggle sometimes makes him feel either undeserving or entitled, saying, “Made me exhausted from trying to prove I was worthy at times. Also Made me feel more entitled at times.”
Despite these feelings, Bieber emphasized that true love is freely given without expectation, and admitted that he sometimes has difficulty believing he deserves the love he receives.
Earlier in the year, Bieber shared his long-term battles with feelings of inadequacy, even describing himself as a “fraud” unworthy of praise or affection. However, his recent posts did not indicate any trouble in his marriage.
In fact, while his wife Hailey Bieber attended the 2025 Met Gala solo, Justin expressed admiration for her on Instagram, posting photos of Hailey in a Saint Laurent blazer with the caption: “I see it I like it and I want it.”
The couple, married since 2018, are now parents to their 8-month-old son, Jack Blues Bieber.
