Justin Baldoni’s legal battle with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds has taken a heated turn following the court’s dismissal of his $400 million countersuit, but according to his attorney, the fight is far from over. On June 10, Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman appeared on TMZ Live and expressed frustration over the decision, emphasizing that both he and Baldoni view the ruling as unfair and unjust. Freedman insisted Baldoni remains committed to clearing his name, expressing that the actor and filmmaker is waiting for his opportunity to tell the truth in a courtroom setting, where, in his words, “he can speak out.”

While Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed both Baldoni’s countersuit and his $250 million libel suit against The New York Times, the ruling left the door open for amended claims—something Baldoni’s team may pursue by the June 23 deadline. Freedman made it clear this legal chapter isn’t closed, especially with plans underway to move forward with Blake Lively’s deposition later this month. He reiterated that Baldoni will show there was neither sexual harassment nor a calculated smear campaign, countering the narrative Lively’s team has publicly embraced.

Blake Lively’s camp, however, responded with unwavering confidence in the court’s ruling. Her attorney Mike Gottlieb characterized the decision as a firm statement that retaliatory litigation will not be tolerated. Alongside co-counsel Esra Hudson, Gottlieb issued a statement hailing the judge’s decision as a complete and total vindication for Lively. The actress herself echoed that tone on Instagram, labeling the suit as “abusive” and proclaiming that it had been “defeated.”

Freedman, for his part, dismissed those claims as premature and inaccurate, arguing that nothing substantive had changed regarding the underlying accusations. He further accused Lively’s team of misleading the public about the outcome, emphasizing that the real reckoning would come with her upcoming deposition.

Lively’s lawyers fired back once more, doubling down with a June 10 statement accusing Baldoni’s legal team of spinning the reality of their courtroom failure. They described the dismissed countersuit as an “embarrassing” attempt to overwhelm and silence Lively and her family, and claimed that no amount of legal maneuvering would reverse what they see as a decisive victory.

As both sides dig in, the conflict shows no signs of resolution. Instead, it’s evolving into a public and deeply personal war of credibility, where each new legal development adds fuel to an already volatile narrative.
