Justin Baldoni’s legal fight with Blake Lively has reached a new and very dramatic stage. Newly surfaced court documents reveal Baldoni’s own emotional account of a night he says left him “emotionally paralysed.” He claims it all started with a tense and unexpected meeting at Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ New York apartment.

According to the documents, this meeting took place in January 2024. Baldoni says he was invited over but felt “ambushed” when he arrived. He claims Ryan confronted him about his behaviour on the set of It Ends With Us. The director told friends that the moment hit him so hard he could barely process it.

In the documents, Baldoni says Ryan spoke to him in a very firm and dismissive tone. He says Ryan talked to him “like a small child” while reading accusations from his phone. According to Baldoni, both Ryan and Blake said they were worried about the difference between how Baldoni publicly presents himself as a safe, supportive person and how people allegedly felt around him on set. Hearing them speak this way, Baldoni said, made him feel stunned and overwhelmed.

He even told his friend Rainn Wilson that he had to fight the urge to “blow the whole thing up” and lash out. But he decided the only thing he could do was listen and accept their feelings, even though he felt crushed by the situation.

The accusations Ryan brought up were serious. According to the documents, someone from the film set had described Baldoni’s behaviour as “abusive” and “creepy,” even calling the experience “the worst of her life.” Baldoni says he was blindsided. He told his friend that the whole confrontation left him feeling spiritually shaken. At one point he said it made him feel like he had been “abandoned by God,” though he later said he did not truly believe that.

These claims are now part of a larger legal battle. Blake Lively filed a lawsuit in December 2024 accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation. Baldoni denies all of it and filed a massive $400 million countersuit against Blake, Ryan, and others. That countersuit was dismissed in June, but the main case is still moving forward. A trial is scheduled for March 2026.

Baldoni’s team says Ryan’s tone during the meeting was “stern” and “angry,” but not abusive. Baldoni maintains the experience was humiliating and deeply upsetting. With these new details coming out, the case keeps getting more complicated and more intense. And it is clear that this Hollywood feud is far from over.
