BTS’ Jungkook has once again made history by becoming the first K-pop idol and the only Asian solo artist to maintain over 3 billion streams on Spotify for a full year. Despite being away from the public eye due to his military enlistment in December 2023, Jungkook’s music continues to dominate global charts, cementing his influence as a powerhouse soloist in the industry.
His debut solo album, Golden, released in November 2023, reached the 3 billion stream milestone in just 140 days. This achievement made it the fastest album by any Asian artist to do so. It even surpassed the pace set by global stars such as Justin Bieber’s Justice, which took 148 days, and Ariana Grande’s thank u, next, which reached the mark in 161 days. As of March 2024, Golden recorded over 3.08 billion streams on Spotify, and that number has remained unmatched by any other Asian artist for a year.
Fans around the world recently commemorated the one-year anniversary of this record, flooding social media with love and praise for Jungkook. Many called him the “Organic King” for achieving such a milestone through pure talent and consistent quality. Messages like “Jungkook is making history worldwide every day!” and “Keep streaming to honor the golden maknae!” reflected their pride and dedication.
Supporters highlighted his all-around excellence, calling him the “Ace of Asia” and praising his unmatched voice, stage presence, and artistry. Even while serving in the military, Jungkook’s influence hasn’t waned, and anticipation is building for his return.
With just a week left before his discharge, fans are revisiting Golden and eagerly awaiting what he will do next. Given his record-breaking track so far, expectations are high that Jungkook will return with even more groundbreaking achievements.
