The Green Bay Packers might be without their star running back this week. Josh Jacobs has a knee injury, and that normally would make fans worry. But the good news is, it sounds like the situation is not nearly as bad as it could have been.

Jacobs gave an update on Thursday and explained what the worst-case scenario looks like. He said that even if he cannot play this Sunday, he will definitely be ready for next Thursday’s Thanksgiving game. He said the injury will not linger or turn into something long-term. That is the absolute worst case.

The Packers have a tough schedule right now. They play the Vikings on Sunday in Week twelve. Then they have a quick turnaround and face the Lions on Thanksgiving in the early game. Based on Jacobs’ own words, he plans to be on the field for the Thanksgiving matchup whether he plays this Sunday or not.

Jacobs got hurt last week against the Giants. He said it happened on the second play of the game. He stayed in for ten more snaps before finally coming out. This week he missed practice on Wednesday but returned in a limited way on Thursday. He said more than half of the swelling is already gone and now the main goal is getting his range of motion back.

If Jacobs cannot go this Sunday, the Packers will turn to Emmanuel Wilson as the starting running back, with Chris Brooks behind him. Sunday is the start of three straight NFC North games for Green Bay, so they would love to have everyone healthy. But for now, it sounds like Jacobs is feeling positive and expects to be back soon.
