In a recent snippet from an old episode of the ‘Conan’ show, Jonah Hill shared a wild story from his time promoting the comedy movie “21 Jump Street” with his co-star Channing Tatum back in 2012. Hill recounted how he and Tatum got so drunk during their press tour in Australia that they almost drowned at Bondi Beach.

According to Hill, Tatum was quite the instigator, continuously pouring drinks down his throat from the moment they boarded the plane. Despite Hill’s protests that he wanted to sleep, he found himself caught up in the party atmosphere. Upon landing in Australia, they immediately decided to go swimming at Bondi Beach, unaware of its dangerous riptides and the reality show “Bondi Rescue” dedicated to saving tourists from drowning.

Hill described how, after entering the ocean, he quickly realized he was drifting far out to sea while Tatum remained near the beach, taking pictures with fans. Panic set in as Hill struggled to swim against the strong current, fearing he would become just another statistic of drunken tourists drowning in Australia. Fortunately, a lifeguard intervened and saved him before tragedy struck.

Reflecting on the incident, Hill joked about the irony of nearly dying drunk in the ocean in Australia and expressed relief at being rescued. The story serves as a testament to the unpredictable adventures that can occur when Tatum and Hill are together, leaving fans to wonder what other shenanigans they got up to during the filming of the movie’s sequel, “22 Jump Street.”
