John Travolta recently paid a heartfelt tribute to his late son, Jett, on what would have been his 33rd birthday. The actor took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of himself with Jett, expressing how much he misses him. In the emotional caption, Travolta wrote, “Happy birthday, Jett—I miss you so much! Love you forever!”
Jett tragically passed away at the age of 16 while the family was on vacation in the Bahamas. He suffered severe seizures during the trip, leading to his untimely death. The post included a nostalgic photo of Jett posing for the camera with his family—his sister, dad, and mom, Kelly Preston.
Kelly Preston, who was also a beloved actress, passed away in 2020 after a courageous two-year battle with breast cancer. Travolta shared the heartbreaking news with fans on social media, writing, “It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer.” He expressed deep gratitude for the care and support she received from doctors, nurses, and loved ones, adding, “My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side.”
In a past interview with Esquire Spain, Travolta spoke candidly about his grief over losing both his wife and his son. He shared that mourning is a deeply personal experience, saying, “I learned that mourning someone, dealing with grief, is something very personal.” He continued, “Mourning is individual, and experiencing your own journey is what can lead you to heal. Your grief is different from another person’s journey.”
At present, John Travolta is living with his daughter, as he continues to navigate life after the loss of his loved ones.
