John Cena is gearing up to thrill audiences in his new movie, Heads of State, and this time, he’s sharing the spotlight with some seriously big names. Alongside him are Idris Elba — his longtime buddy from The Suicide Squad — and the incredibly talented Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who’s also known for her amazing voice.

In a recent chat with Extra, Cena didn’t hold back his excitement about working with Priyanka. He called her “the best” and praised how naturally she fit right into the team.

Cena also talked about his great chemistry with Idris Elba, which started when they first worked together on James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. But as soon as Priyanka joined the cast, Cena said, “She stepped right in” and “belongs to the team.” In his words, “She kicks a** in this movie.”

For those curious, Heads of State is an action-packed comedy directed by Ilya Naishuller. The film features a star-studded lineup, including Jack Quaid, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, Carla Gugino, and more — so expect plenty of laughs and explosive moments.

Written by Harrison Query and produced by Peter Safran and John Rickard, the movie has been in the works since October 2020 under Amazon Studios, with filming kicking off in May 2023. Heads of State is slated to hit theaters on July 2, 2025.
