Joe Biden becomes 46th President of the United States of America

In April 2019, Biden announced his candidacy for the 2020 US Presidential Election and in June 2020, he reached the delegate threshold required to secure the Democratic nomination. On August 11, he announced U.S. Senator Kamala Harris of California as his running mate for the office of the Vice President.

In a historical landslide victory, Democrat Joe Biden bags 284 electoral votes and has become the 46th President of United States of America. According to the vote count released by The Associated Press, Joe Biden has defeated Republican Donald Trump.

Kamala Harris has made history, to be elected as the first woman, the first Black American and the first Asian American Vice President of America.

Joe Biden won by majority votes in the state of New Hampshire, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada and Wisconsin while Donald Trump had his hold over Ohio, Texas, Iowa, Florida and North Carolina and before, Trump was leading in Georgia and Pennsylvania.

He has proposed policies of allowing same-sex marriage as well as to increase the use of renewable energy resources, which ultimately made him won the trust of the people especially, Nevada.

During his term as the Vice President, Biden oversaw the infrastructure spending to control the great recession. His diplomatic negotiations with the congressional Republicans helped pass certain legislations which included the 2010 Tax Relief Act and the Budget Control Act of 2011, helped resolve the debt ceiling crisis. He also put in efforts to pass the United States–Russia New START treaty and helped formulate the US foreign policy towards Iraq by facilitating the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq in 2011.
