Jin from BTS made history on August 5 by becoming the first and only Asian soloist to sell out a concert at London’s O2 Arena. Around 20,000 fans were in the audience, celebrating the UK leg of his Run Seokjin Ep Tour. During the show, he noticed something amazing. Fans were reacting to his Korean comments before the interpreter could even translate them. Surprised, he asked if they had been learning Korean because of BTS. The cheers he got in response left him genuinely touched. He thanked them for learning the language and connecting in that way.

After the concert, Jin did a livestream where he talked about why he stopped the high-five tradition during the tour. Fans had been grabbing his hands too tightly during shows, which became risky. Even after asking them to touch lightly, people kept holding on. He explained that it became dangerous for him, and he didn’t want anyone to get hurt. Now, he focuses on other parts of the concert, like the Moon introduction sing-along, instead of hand-touching. He apologized to fans for having to step back, saying he felt bad about not being able to continue the tradition.

It was clear that he really cares about fan safety while still appreciating their love and enthusiasm. The moment with fans learning Korean also showed how BTS inspires people in unique ways beyond just music.
