Jimmy Kimmel Live! Returns After Controversy Over Charlie Kirk Comments

Jimmy Kimmel Live! is back on air tonight after ABC temporarily pulled the show following criticism over comments Kimmel made about Charlie Kirk’s death. The host had condemned the attack and sent love to Kirk’s family, but also spoke critically about the political response, including a viral clip of former President Donald Trump.

ABC said they decided to reinstate the show after “thoughtful conversations” with Kimmel. However, 70 ABC affiliate stations, including those owned by Sinclair and Nexstar, will still not broadcast the episode. They cited Kimmel’s remarks as “inappropriate and deeply insensitive” during a sensitive moment.

Kimmel’s original comments included criticism of MAGA supporters trying to politicize Kirk’s death, as well as Trump’s response to the killing. He compared the president’s reaction to a child mourning a goldfish while focusing on his White House renovations.

The show returns tonight at 11:35 pm ET/10:35 pm CT, which is 4:35 am in the UK. If your local ABC affiliate isn’t airing it, you can watch the episode the next day on Hulu or through streaming services like DirecTV, Fubo, YouTubeTV, Live TV, and Sling.
