Jimmy Fallon can’t seem to shake off the hilarious moment from 2015 when Nicole Kidman surprised him on his show, even discussing it in a recent episode of 20 Questions: On Deadline. The 49-year-old comedian, known for hosting The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, reminisced about the unexpected revelation during the interview.
Recalling the viral moment, Fallon confessed that Kidman caught him completely off guard. Initially, they were supposed to discuss one of her movies or an award nomination, but Kidman dropped the bombshell, “Did you know that we dated?” Fallon admitted that his reaction was pure embarrassment, and his face practically melted with shock.
The incident occurred during Kidman’s first appearance on the show, where she candidly shared details about their past interaction. She reminisced about visiting Fallon’s apartment for a chemistry test, revealing she had a crush on him at the time. Fallon, visibly stunned, stuttered and questioned himself if he had ever dated Nicole Kidman or gone on a date with her.
Kidman described the encounter, which took place during casting for the 2005 film Bewitched, as a disaster. She recounted how Fallon didn’t speak at all during the meeting, leading her to believe he had no interest, which was embarrassing for her. Kidman even thought Fallon might be gay due to his lack of engagement.
Nearly a decade later, Fallon revealed that he and Kidman’s husband, Keith Urban, still joke about the moment to this day. Fallon even shared a hilarious anecdote about a Met Gala prank he pulled on Kidman, orchestrated by Urban. Despite the initial awkwardness, Fallon and Kidman share a humorous rapport, with their past encounter continuing to be a source of amusement for them.
Kidman and Urban’s love story began in 2005, coinciding with their collaboration on Bewitched. They have since built a strong relationship, welcoming two daughters together. Similarly, Fallon found love with Nancy Juvonen, tying the knot in 2007 and raising two daughters of their own. Despite the comedic mishap with Kidman, Fallon and his family continue to thrive in their own love story.
