Jennifer Lopez’s highly anticipated ninth studio album, “This Is Me…Now,” is set to make its debut on February 16, 2024. This long-awaited album marks a return after nearly a decade since her last studio release and commemorates the anniversary of her previous album, “This is Me…Then.” The album, a collaborative effort featuring talents like Rogét Chayed, Angel Lopez, Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, HitBoy, Tay Keith, and INK, among others, is a fusion of R&B, contemporary pop, and hip-hop influences.
Accompanying the album release, Amazon MGM Studios has acquired a new short film directed by Dave Meyers, promising an intimate and reflective visual reimagining of Lopez’s love life. The film is described as narrative-driven, combining elements of intimacy, fantasy, humor, and entertainment. Much like her earlier album, “This Is Me…Now” includes references to her relationship with actor Ben Affleck, including a track titled “Dear Ben Pt. II,” a likely follow-up to her previous song “Dear Ben.”
The teaser for the film, released recently, hints at unannounced cameos and provides a glimpse into Lopez’s childhood aspirations of being in love, setting the stage for a deeper exploration of her romantic experiences.
The album’s first single, “Can’t Get Enough,” is slated for release on January 10, 2024, and is currently available for pre-saving. This album launch marks Lopez’s debut under her new partnership with BMG, with Brandon Riester from BMG credited as the album’s A&R, overseeing the artistic and repertoire aspects of the release.
