Jennifer Lopez is thriving in her new chapter, prioritizing her career and children after finalizing her divorce from Ben Affleck. According to People magazine, the singer and actress is currently single and content, choosing to dedicate her energy to work and family rather than dating.

Lopez, 55, officially filed for divorce on August 20, with the legal separation finalized on January 6. The former couple—who famously rekindled their romance in 2021 after calling off their first engagement in 2004—were declared legally single on February 21, 2025.

Despite the emotional toll of the breakup, Lopez is maintaining a positive outlook. “Life goes on, and if anyone can move forward and be positive about it, it’s Jennifer,” a source shared. “She sees everything as a lesson. She really wanted the marriage to work, but Ben was unwilling to put in the effort. That hurt her.”

To create stability for her family, Lopez recently purchased an $18 million estate in Los Angeles, while Affleck has been busy promoting The Accountant 2, which hits theaters on April 25.

While rumors of tension between the exes have circulated, Affleck shut them down in a GQ interview, emphasizing that there was no scandal or bad blood. “There’s no soap opera or intrigue. Sometimes, things just don’t work out,” he stated. He also praised Lopez for her grace in handling fame, acknowledging that she thrives in the spotlight while he prefers a more private life.

Lopez, meanwhile, is moving full speed ahead with her career. She’s currently working on her upcoming Netflix rom-com Office Romance, proving that, for her, the focus remains on her children and the next exciting chapter of her life.
