Jennifer Aniston has always been one of those stars everyone loves, ever since she played Rachel Green on Friends. She became a Hollywood staple, starring in hit after hit, but despite being an A-lister, she’s never been to the Met Gala.
In a recent interview with Glamour, Jennifer opened up about why she avoids it. She said the whole idea of dressing up overwhelms her. She described herself as a “jeans and flip-flops and tank top” kind of person and explained that getting all dolled up, doing her hair and makeup, and sitting in a big room with other celebrities feels like a mental challenge more than fun. She admitted that while she enjoys dressing up occasionally, the Met Gala just isn’t her thing.
Jennifer also mentioned that public speaking events can make her anxious, especially because her words have been misinterpreted in the past. She explained that she sometimes finds herself overthinking and monitoring what she says to avoid being misunderstood, which adds to the pressure of these high-profile events.
There’s also been a lot of talk about how Jennifer has maintained her youthful looks. Rumors about cosmetic surgery have followed her for years, especially after she was spotted leaving a clinic in Connecticut with Sandra Bullock and Amanda Anka in 2024. Jennifer has openly said she’s had Botox and fillers in the past, but she never liked them. Recently, she clarified that she mainly sticks to facials, laser treatments, and other “good stuff” to maintain her skin. She stressed that taking care of her body is about perspective and self-respect.
On the personal front, Jennifer is currently dating Jim Curtis, a transformational coach and hypnotherapist. They were first spotted together in late June 2025 and were seen enjoying time on a yacht in Mallorca with friends, confirming their relationship.
Jennifer’s honesty about avoiding the Met Gala because it overwhelms her and her focus on self-care makes her feel very relatable to many people.
