Jeannie Mai has brought forth alarming allegations regarding her 2-year-old daughter, Monaco, purportedly stumbling upon an unsecured assault rifle owned by her estranged husband, Jeezy. Court documents obtained by PageSix reveal Mai’s concerns, stating that the rapper, known as Jeezy, “irresponsibly hides dangerous firearms throughout his home which are easily accessible and obviously dangerous to a two-year-old child.”
The allegations go on to detail instances where Jeezy allegedly carried around an AK-47 assault rifle within their residence, both in Los Angeles, California, and Atlanta, Georgia, where they resided together. These revelations, disclosed in court documents filed on Thursday, paint a troubling picture of the household environment.
Jeannie Mai, aged 45 and former host of The Real, has voiced her worries about her daughter’s safety amidst the ongoing legal battle with Jeezy, who initiated divorce proceedings in September 2023. Despite Mai’s concerns, she claims Jeezy dismissed them, accusing her of gatekeeping.
According to Mai’s account, Monaco encountered her father’s AK-47 beside a bed in their home, a detail seemingly contradicted by photographs submitted by Jeezy’s legal team, which displayed a safe containing four guns but omitted the presence of the assault rifle.
In addition to concerns about firearms, Mai’s court filing accuses Jeezy, aged 46, of subjecting her to physical and verbal abuse throughout their two-year marriage. One distressing incident detailed in the documents describes Jeezy allegedly choking Mai from behind and pushing her down stairs at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in San Francisco on April 14, 2022. Witnesses, including a hotel security guard, reportedly observed the altercation.
Jeezy has vehemently denied the allegations, labeling them “deeply disturbing” and asserting their lack of validity in a statement to Page Six. He expressed dismay at Mai’s accusations, emphasizing his commitment to co-parenting their daughter amidst the legal proceedings.
Earlier attempts by Jeezy to secure primary custody of Monaco were later amended to seek joint physical and legal custody, reflecting his desire to maintain an active role in their daughter’s life despite the contentious legal dispute.
