More than a year has passed since Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard reached its conclusion. Nonetheless, the ongoing drama between Heard and Depp continues to cast a shadow over the highly anticipated release of “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” slated for 2023, which is a follow-up to the 2018 film “Aquaman.” On October 10, Variety published a report centered on a Reddit thread that contained therapy notes attributed to Heard from the Depp-Heard trial. According to these notes, Heard alleged that Jason Momoa, her co-star in both “Aquaman” movies, dressed up as Depp to provoke her during the filming of the sequel. “Jason said he wanted me fired,” as noted by Heard’s therapist. “Jason drunk — late on set. Dressing like Johnny. Has all the rings too.” While Mamoa hasn’t responded to these claims, a representative from DC dismissed Heard’s accusation.
One can empathize with someone feeling distressed if a colleague were to mimic their estranged former partner. Although opinions on the matter appeared to be divided on social media, with some expressing support for Heard and others criticizing her, there was a notable amount of backing for Heard among users on the platform.
