Jason Isaacs has joined the cast of the upcoming psychological horror-thriller Victorian Psycho, alongside Maika Monroe and Thomasin McKenzie. The film centers on Winifred Notty, a disturbed young governess hired to teach manners and family history at a remote estate, who harbors a dark and psychopathic nature beneath her polite facade. As she settles in, estate staff begin mysteriously disappearing, raising suspicion about her true intentions.

Set in 1858, the story unfolds at Ensor House, a gothic manor where Winifred’s arrival coincides with unsettling events. Isaacs will portray Mr. John Pounds, the enigmatic and mercurial owner of the mansion.

Directed by Zachary Wigon and adapted from Virginia Feito’s novel (who also penned the screenplay), Victorian Psycho begins production in August. The project is fully financed by Anton, which is also managing U.S. distribution.
