Jackson Wang, widely loved for his candid and easy-going personality, gave fans a closer look into his personal life during his recent trip to India. In an interview with entrepreneur Raj Shamani, the GOT7 member opened up about a very personal chapter from his past—his first love and the heartbreak that followed. As usual, he was open, honest, and even a little humorous, making fans feel more connected to him.
He shared that this emotional story took place when he was just 12 or 13 years old, during his 6th or 7th grade. Though many would call it “puppy love,” Jackson described it as a deeply emotional and impactful experience. He recalled holding hands with a girl for the first time while watching a movie, saying the moment made him feel like he was on a rollercoaster. According to him, he was even more nervous during that moment than walking the red carpet at the Met Gala.
But the joy didn’t last long. Jackson revealed that one day, his girlfriend broke up with him through a text message. She told him that she had fallen for someone else. Jackson remembered everything clearly—even the fact that the guy’s name was John. That name stuck with him so deeply that he jokingly said it became a “trauma” word for him.
He also remembered the entire scene surrounding the breakup—the song that was playing, the rainy weather, and how heartbroken he felt. He admitted that he cried really hard, and the pain of that moment has stayed with him ever since.
Jackson’s detailed and emotional storytelling made it clear how much that young heartbreak affected him. It also reminded fans that even global stars like him go through painful, very human experiences. Despite the sadness of the story, many appreciated his vulnerability and sincerity. Hopefully, Jackson has healed from that early heartbreak and will find, or already has found, the love and support he truly deserves.
