Jack Woodman, known for his appearance on Channel 4’s Bodyshockers, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for a series of violent assaults against his former partner, Crystal Taff, during a deeply abusive five-year relationship.

The 33-year-old pawnshop owner was convicted earlier this year at Bristol Crown Court of grievous bodily harm and two counts of actual bodily harm. The abuse included breaking Crystal’s jaw, ripping out her hair, and threatening to burn her with a hair straightener — some of these acts occurring in front of their two children.

In heartbreaking testimony given in February, Crystal detailed how Woodman attacked her at his shop, Jack’s Cash in Bedminster, after expressing dissatisfaction with her cleaning. He punched her in the face so hard she feared her teeth were knocked out. X-rays later revealed a fractured jaw requiring surgery.

Another violent incident occurred in his car, where Woodman pulled out a clump of her hair, leaving a bald patch. On another occasion, on Father’s Day 2022, he allegedly turned violent after losing money at a casino, further traumatizing Crystal.

Crystal’s stepfather, Dave Priddle, welcomed the sentencing, saying it represented justice not only for Crystal but for all women facing domestic abuse. He emphasized how important it was for survivors to see perpetrators held accountable.

Despite Woodman denying all charges, the jury delivered a guilty verdict in just two hours, underscoring the strength and clarity of the evidence presented against him.
