Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to join US President Donald Trump’s new idea called the Board of Peace. The invitation was accepted on Wednesday. This move is linked to efforts around the Gaza ceasefire and what comes next for the region.

Israel is not alone. Several countries have already said yes. These include Azerbaijan, Argentina, Belarus, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. Trump has made it clear that he wants this group to be global. Invitations have been sent to at least 60 countries.

The idea is simple. Trump wants this Board of Peace to act like a global problem-solving group. Many see it as similar to a softer version of the UN Security Council. The official announcement is expected on Thursday. It will be made at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

India has also received an invitation. This was confirmed on Sunday. US Ambassador Sergio Gor shared the update on X. He said it was an honour to pass on Trump’s invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that the board aims to bring lasting peace to Gaza. It will also focus on stable governance and long-term prosperity.

China and Russian President Vladimir Putin have also been invited. This shows how wide Trump wants the reach to be.

According to the White House, the Board of Peace will guide Gaza as it moves away from war. The body will oversee the full 20-point Gaza peace plan proposed by Trump. It will help manage funds. It will track progress. It will also make sure promises are actually kept.

This idea is not brand new. It first came up in September last year. At that time, Trump spoke about a detailed Gaza peace plan. The plan suggested that Gaza should be run temporarily by a neutral Palestinian committee. This group would handle daily services like health, utilities, and administration. The Board of Peace would supervise this committee.

Joining the Board of Peace is not automatic. Countries can only become members if the US President invites them. Each membership usually lasts 3 years. There is one exception. Countries that give more than USD 1000000000 in cash during the first year can get permanent membership.

There is no fixed joining fee. The White House has clearly said this. An official clarification on X explained that permanent membership is about commitment, not money. It is meant for countries that truly support peace, security, and development.

The Board will be run by a high-profile executive team. This includes Secretary Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Sir Tony Blair, Marc Rowan, Ajay Banga, and Robert Gabriel. They will handle the day-to-day work and turn the vision into action.

As global reactions continue, the world is watching closely. Many see this as a bold move. Others are still unsure. What is clear is that Trump’s Board of Peace is now moving from idea to reality.
