In Season 1 of Wednesday, the character Xavier Thorpe, played by Percy Hynes White, quickly became a fan favorite. With his mysterious charm and strong chemistry with Wednesday Addams, many viewers hoped for a deeper romantic storyline between them. He showed clear interest in her from the start, and even after being wrongly suspected of murder, fans stuck by him. But when Season 2 dropped, fans were surprised to find that Xavier is no longer part of the main story.

Where is Xavier in Wednesday season 2?

In the new season, it’s revealed that Xavier’s father pulled him out of Nevermore Academy after the chaos in Season 1. He was falsely accused of being involved in the murders, which deeply affected his reputation. To give his son a fresh start, Xavier’s father withdrew his endowment from the school and sent Xavier to a different institution. He’s now attending Reichenbach Academy in Switzerland, a school known for its high standards in educating Outcasts. Gomez Addams even mentions that the school has an excellent reputation, which reassures viewers that Xavier is in a good place.

This change is confirmed by Barry Dort, the new principal at Nevermore. He mentions the shift in responsibilities at the school, including Morticia Addams being asked to chair the Gala Fundraising Committee, a role previously held by Xavier’s father. This subtle detail ties the story together while explaining Xavier’s sudden absence.

Wednesday herself seems surprised when she returns to school and doesn’t find Xavier there. It’s clear she expected to see him again. However, his removal from the storyline makes room for a different direction in Season 2. Some fans feel disappointed, especially those who were looking forward to a romantic arc between Xavier and Wednesday. But others see it as a return to the show’s original focus, Wednesday’s sharp mind, her detective instincts, and her mysterious world.

Even though Xavier isn’t physically present in Season 2, the creators didn’t completely leave him out. Wednesday receives a letter and a painting from him. The painting shows a one-eyed crow, which Xavier saw in one of his visions. In his letter, he admits he doesn’t know what it means, but he believes it’s somehow connected to her. He signs off by writing, “Who is Wednesday without a mystery to solve?”

It’s a small moment, but it keeps his connection to the story alive. His words remind both Wednesday and the audience of the bond they shared. It also adds another layer to the mystery she’s about to face.

Xavier’s time at Nevermore may have ended, and the romance subplot may be closed for now. But his quiet presence in the background still leaves the door open. Whether he returns in future seasons remains unknown. For now, Season 2 allows Wednesday to stand on her own again, focused, curious, and surrounded by new secrets waiting to be uncovered.
