It has been nearly three years since Black Clover went on an indefinite hiatus following the conclusion of its fourth season in October 2021. This hiatus was a disappointment for many fans, as Studio Pierrot had to halt production due to the anime rapidly catching up to the ongoing manga series. However, with new chapters of the manga consistently being released and the final arc starting to wrap up, there is hope that season 5 of the fantasy anime will soon grace our screens. As of now, there has been no official news regarding the release of Black Clover season 5. However, the manga’s consistent updates and ample material available for adaptation have fans optimistic about a new season. While the earliest release date fans can hope for is late 2024, it is more realistic to expect it sometime in 2025.
Black Clover follows the journey of two orphaned boys, Asta and Yuno, in a world where everyone possesses magical abilities except for Asta. Despite this, both aspire to become the next Wizard King, with Asta joining the Black Bulls Magic Knights and Yuno joining the Golden Dawn. Season 4 saw them confront powerful foes, including the Dark Triad and their army of Devils, culminating in Asta forming a pact with the anti-magic Devil, Liebe, to combat the formidable Lucifero.
The talented voice cast of Black Clover is expected to return for the fifth season, including Gakuto Kajiwara and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Asta and Yuno, respectively, along with Kana Yuki as Noelle Silva and Jun’ichi Suwabe as Yami Sukehiro, among others.

Regarding the Spade Kingdom Arc, which spans chapters 261 to 331 in the manga, the anime halted its adaptation at chapter 272. However, with Black Clover’s transition from Shonen Jump to Jump GIGA, it now has quarterly chapter releases instead of weekly ones, allowing the author, Yuki Tabata, to prioritize his health while continuing to deliver quality content to fans.
