“The Zone of Interest,” directed by Jonathan Glazer and based on Martin Amis’s novel of the same name, introduces the story of Rudolf Höss (portrayed by Christian Friedel), an Auschwitz commandant aiming to establish an idyllic family life in a house adjacent to the concentration camp.
Earning critical acclaim and securing three Golden Globe nominations, the film has garnered attention for its gripping portrayal of the harrowing historical events. With a current rating of 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, it has captivated audiences and critics alike during festival screenings.
Regarding its availability for streaming, the movie commenced a limited theatrical release in the United States on December 15. Unfortunately, this remains the sole legal option for U.S. viewers interested in watching the film. However, audiences in the UK will need to exercise patience as the film is scheduled for release on February 2, 2024, across the pond.
Once its theatrical run concludes, the most probable streaming platform for the film’s debut is HBO Max. A24, the film’s production company, recently forged an exclusive agreement with HBO, Max, and Cinemax in December 2023. This agreement grants HBO Max the initial streaming rights for all upcoming A24 films, including “The Zone of Interest,” in the upcoming year.
Therefore, for the time being, the film can only be experienced in theaters. Post-theatrical release, HBO Max subscribers are expected to gain access to stream “The Zone of Interest” on the platform.
