Post Malone has confirmed that he’s working on a brand-new album. Speaking to Billboard during the opening weekend of Coachella 2025, the rapper-turned-country singer revealed he’s already recorded around 35 songs. “It’s just a matter of which one’s rock and which one’s sock,” he joked.

This update comes less than a year after Malone released his successful country album F-1 Trillion, which featured chart-toppers like I Had Some Help with Morgan Wallen and collaborations with stars such as Dolly Parton, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, and Lainey Wilson.

On April 13, Malone headlined Coachella for the first time, closing out the festival’s first weekend. While he didn’t preview any tracks from the new album during his set—responding with a firm “Absolutely not” when asked—he did reveal that he’s been spending a lot of time in Nashville, writing and recording.

“We just sit and f—ing talk and make songs,” he said, referring to recent studio sessions with artists like Ernest, Hardy, and Thomas Rhett. He confirmed that the upcoming record will continue his country music journey.

Malone added that his band has already recorded several tracks, and he’s currently working with scratch vocals. Though he usually avoids listening to his own music, he admitted that hearing the band play this new material gets him genuinely excited.

Reflecting on his shift to country, Malone shared that he once joked about making a country album at age 30, but ended up doing it at 29 instead. “It just felt right,” he said of the decision to go to Nashville and give it a try.

The artist, who has consistently released albums each year since 2022, says he hopes to keep that momentum going. “Hopefully. We’ll have some music releasing very, very soon,” he hinted.

As for what’s next, Malone plans to return to the studio immediately after his Coachella performance. “The day after my set, I’m cutting vocals,” he said. He’s also preparing to hit the road for The Big Ass World Tour with Jelly Roll, marking his first-ever stadium tour later this year.
