Palworld, the creature-collecting survival game that fans have affectionately dubbed “Pokémon with guns,” became an instant hit upon release. With Pokémon being exclusive to Nintendo consoles, it’s no wonder that players on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC were excited to jump into a similar experience. Palworld offers the thrill of capturing quirky creatures and battling in an open-world environment, making it appealing to gamers across various platforms.
Since Palworld is a survival game with a strong focus on co-op, similar to Ark: Survival Evolved, many players are naturally curious about its cross-platform capabilities.
Can you play with friends on different platforms? Here’s what we know so far.
At the moment, Palworld does support cross-platform play between Xbox and PC—but only if you’re playing the game through the Xbox app on PC. Unfortunately, if you’re on Steam or PlayStation 5, you won’t be able to team up with friends on Xbox just yet. While this setup isn’t ideal, especially compared to full cross-platform games, it’s better than having no cross-platform support, like Elden Ring.
The game’s developers have mentioned they’re working on expanding cross-platform functionality, but there hasn’t been any new information since the game launched. We’ll keep you updated as soon as more details become available.
For now, Xbox and PC players (through the Xbox app) can enjoy Palworld together, while others will need to stick to their own platform. Keep an eye out for future updates on this front!
