The Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again has been a huge hit, and it may have just dropped a major hint about the return of another beloved superhero group.
Charlie Cox’s portrayal of Daredevil (Matt Murdock) has made him the first superhero from The Defenders to make a comeback after Netflix’s original series concluded. The Defenders originally brought together a team of vigilantes — Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist — all fighting to take down a dangerous enemy, The Hand.
In the latest Daredevil: Born Again season, fans noticed something interesting in the finale. It looks like the show might be teasing the return of The Defenders for a second season. The story takes a turn when Kingpin (Wilson Fisk) tightens his grip over New York, overshadowing Daredevil’s influence in the city.
In the finale, Matt Murdock declares that he wants to take back control of New York and acknowledges he’ll need an “army” to do it. He starts assembling a team, including Detective Angie Kim and former cop Cherry, at Josie’s Bar. But the mission is too big and dangerous, suggesting that Daredevil will need a stronger force to take on Kingpin.
This has led many fans to believe that the Defenders might reunite to form the ultimate task force. After all, reports have been circulating that Netflix’s Defenders series might be coming back for a second season in 2026. It would make sense for Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, and Finn Jones’ Iron Fist to reunite as part of this new team.
There’s also speculation that some of these characters might even make cameo appearances in upcoming Daredevil episodes, making this even more exciting for fans who want to see the gang back together.
On top of that, Daredevil: Born Again has been officially renewed for a second season, following an overwhelmingly positive reception from fans. The upcoming season promises more intense action, with Matt Murdock clashing with Wilson Fisk as their past identities begin to resurface, setting the stage for more thrilling confrontations.
